Derek Morkel

President & CEO

Derek Morkel serves as president and chief executive officer at HealthTech, LLC and its subsidiaries HealthTech Management Services and HealthTech Solutions Group. With more than 20 years experience in both health care and technology industries, Morkel leads the overall strategic direction of the companies and oversees operations, growth strategy, and financial performance. Previously, Morkel served as senior vice president at MedCath Corporation based in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He also was chief executive officer of U.S. operations for Craneware, Inc., a leading revenue cycle software solutions company with North American headquarters in Orlando, Florida. Additionally, he served as operations chief financial officer at IASIS Healthcare located in Franklin, Tennessee. Morkel earned a Bachelor's degree from Stellenbosch University in Stellenbosch, South Africa and a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
